Core Equipment: We have installed a State-of-the-art Ericsson end-to-end solution with the following features:
Ericsson AXE 810 based telephony server (TeS) to act as the switching platform (call control function) operating on EIN3.1.
Ericsson AXD 301 based interconnect platform
Ericsson AXD 301 based media gateway (MGW)
The system will support clear channel and VoIP calls. Our equipment configuration can handle up to 20,000 concurrent calls. For network security, we are using Juniper ISG 2000 firewall and Redback SE400 routers.
Connectivity:
We are taking TDM interfaces (at E1 and STM-1 level) and GE interfaces at our switch side. As per our license obligation we are required to route all traffic through the SEA-ME-WE4 (SMW4) submarine cable. Furthermore, we will have to handle at least 10% of the total capacity through a satellite link. We have PoPs with softswitches in London and Hong Kong and both locations are connected via STM1 connectivity. These two Pops are connected using cable systems across the Atlantic and the Pacific Ocean . This will help improve efficiency, increase diversity and reduce possibility of congestion.
